In Maremma we play golf!

Did you know that in the area surrounding Magliano there are 5 beautiful 18-hole golf courses that are open all year round? Well now you know!

Two of these are just half an hour away by car:

The Terme di Saturnia Golf Club, designed by the Californinan architect Ronald Fream, is seamlessly integrated in the Maremma countryside. As well as playing golf, you can go for a walk amongst lakes and streams and enjoy breathtaking views. The 72-par golf course, for a total of 6,907 yards, has 6 tee-off areas (there are also advanced tees for those who want to enjoy an hassle-free round of golf). Once you have finished your round, you can relax under the Mulino natural waterfalls (where you can benefit from a free entrance and 37 degrees’ warm water) or inside the resort’s equipped area. Last but not least, the journey itself from Magliano to Saturnia is so beautiful that it also makes up part of the holiday experience.

The Argentario Golf, situated on the homonymous cape, near Porto Ercole, boasts some breathtaking views of the sea, the countryside and the Orbetello Lagoon. The view you can enjoy from tee number 2 is worth the trip on its own. It has a par 71 for a total of 6,800 yards. In 2008, it hosted the Italian stage of the Ladies European Tour and you can find the professional golfer Peppo Canonica amongst the instructors.

Three golf clubs are 1 hour away by car:

The Golf Club Punta Ala, with a par 72 for a total of 6,745 yards, is immersed in Mediterranean vegetation and offers a seaview from almost every hole. There are virtually no water obstacles but the thick vegetation of maritime pinetrees, holm oaks and cork oaks makes your golfing experience very intriguing. Before or after a round of golf, you should visit the beach of Cala Violina, considered by many as one of the best beaches in Italy (it owes its name to the sound produced by stepping on its white sand).

The Golf Club Toscana has a Par 71 for 6,474 yards, slightly hilly golf course. 11 out of 18 holes present a water obstacle, which makes this golf circuit quite challenging. From the highest points, there is a view on the Gulf of Follonica and the Isle of Elba.

The Royal Golf La Bagnaia ,with a Par 71 for 6,672 yards, was designed by the architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. and spans over 296 acres, in perfect harmony with the gentle Siena hills. The Tuscan morphology is a distinctive example of Inland Links, that reminds you of the Scottish Highlands with its Rough waiving in the wind. After a round of Golf you can reach Siena in a just a few minutes by car and have an aperitivo on the famous Piazza del Campo.
